 WESTMINSTER KENNEL CLUB IS THE PREMIER TELEVISED DOG SHOW WITH A 146 year HISTORY. THEY NEEDED AN EXPLORATION OF WHAT THEIR BRANDING COULD LOOK LIKE GOING INTO THE FUTURE.

A brand refresh doesn’t happen overnight for a legacy brand like WKC- these things take baby steps, and multiple stages of buy-in both internally and with the adoring fanbase. The Lodge was thrilled to help ‘dip the toes in the water’ of this process for the first year of our collaboration, with an update to the font system, and fresh new take on their existing logos and color palette.

ART DIRECTION & ADVERTSING

The conversation with WKC began with looking at a multi-year web rebuild to attract to a younger generation. The actual first projects that The Lodge performed for WKC was a new deck presenting a refresh in brand that was immediately implemented into advertising decks, marketing collateral including the annual WKC program, and web advertisements for ticket sales.

PRINTWORK

The beloved WKC ‘Show Catalogue’ is a fan favorite for attendees at the show and for purchasing online. The Lodge helped with the art direction for the 2023 WKC offering of this book.

ON-GOING ROLL-OUT

The future is bright for WKC as they look to appeal to the future generations of attendees for the show both in person and on tv. The Lodge loves the unique challenge of maintaining the design integrity of a classic brand, while looking to freshen up the image as it enters a new, digital era.
